Relaxation Massage

Relaxation Massage is also known by many as Swedish massage. It combines classic strokes like gliding, kneading, stretching, friction, range-of-motion and compression. A range of pressure types are used throughout the session and vary from feather light to firm. This style of massage helps relieve stress by balancing the nervous system, relieves the body of physical tension and uplifts the mood. A one-hour session is general in nature due to more terrain to cover. If you want to combine some specific work, consider a longer massage. It’s wonderful.

Therapeutic Massage is focused on addressing specific muscle groups that are contributing to a pattern of pain. This modality is effective in treating a range of issues such as neck and back problems. Deep tissue techniques are used with an emphasis on trigger point therapy - which zeroes in on the “knots” and myofascial therapy, an intermediate form of structural integration, which stretches the fascia that surrounds musculature relieving tension, restrictions and pain.

Lomilomi is a very powerful and ancient form of Hawaiian bodywork. It is for people who seek to experience deeper levels of healing by attending to their spirit. To the Hawaiians, lomilomi is a sacred ritual which brings the spirit back into the body. Lomilomi cleanses the mind and body through prayer, the fluidity of the strokes and the movement of breath. Lomilomi is performed to the rhythm of Hawaiian chants and song. Reminiscent of hula, the lomi dance is inspired by undulating waters and tropical breezes. As a partner in this dance of spirit, the receiver allows their visions, thoughts, emotions and memories to move them, letting the energy flow as a cleansing wave, releasing cherished wounds to bring in blessed joy and aloha!

The two most requested types of massage therapy that I offer include one which encourages relaxation, and the other toward relief of physical pain and discomfort. Each massage is specifically adapted to the client’s goals. Lubricant is applied to the skin. Aromatherapy is included. Professional draping techniques are used.
